Supporting School Success for Career Success

I am passionate about the power education has to open doors. My educational training and professional expertise are an asset in performing the complex duties this position requires. They will help me support school success for the career success of our students. I hope to empower parents, teachers, staff and the community to work together to transform student outcomes in a positive way. From technical to college track, I’m dedicated to students learning what they can do today to build the best careers tomorrow.

Focusing on the Future

As Senior Assistant Dean, Student Affairs, I have the privilege of leading a dynamic team at the business school at UC Davis to create transformative student experiences and provide impactful career education. This resulted in one program being top ten in the world for the last 4 years for our ability to help our students secure jobs compared to cost for degree. The team and I worked closely with hiring managers and recruiters to understand what they look for in new hires. We guided the students in understanding how to make the most of every opportunity to become in-demand employees. I want to bring this knowledge to our families, school district, educators, and staff to empower our students. I’m also highly interested in building upon and supporting various pathway programs in the schools.

Connecting our Community

Throughout my career, I’ve sought ways to build community and create connections. I will work tirelessly to support bringing in college, career and community resources to our district. I will also seek to build stronger lines of communication and collaboration between families and schools. The stronger these connections are, the better we can serve the kids.

Recruiting and Retention

Our educators, administration and support staff shape the experiences of our students. I’m committed to helping develop and/or supporting solutions that enable us to recruit passionate and effective individuals, and retain our high-quality employees who selflessly serve. This includes competitive compensation, smaller class sizes, training, mentoring and development opportunities.
